Advisory Group Added to Chancellor Search Committee
On October 31, the Chancellor Search Committee met with President France Córdova to begin the chancellor search process. President Córdova addressed concerns raised by the Search Committee that the search is being conducted as a closed procedure. An additional concern discussed at the meeting was that Search Committee members were appointed rather than elected.
As a compromise, President Córdova and the Search Committee agreed to add an "extended committee" with members who will participate in the interviews with the three finalists. This Chancellor Search Advisory Group will provide input to the Search Committee. The Chancellor Search Committee expects to interview eight to ten candidates and select up to three finalists to continue in the process. The finalists are expected to be interviewed by both committees. All candidate information will remain confidential and the names of the finalists will not be released to the public.
Various groups represented by committee members will determine the representative election process to the Chancellor Search Advisory Group. Read the details...
