IPFW and Ivy Tech--Northeast Honor Veterans at Annual Flag Ceremony
The Office of Military Student Services for IPFW and Ivy Tech Community College--Northeast will honor veterans of the United States Armed Forces at the Second Annual Veterans Day Flag Ceremony, Friday, November 11, at 11 a.m. on the Science Mall at IPFW. The ceremony will include remarks from administrators from both IPFW and Ivy Tech--Northeast, as well as veterans.

New System-wide Policies Take Effect November 1
The Executive Policy Review Group, a standing committee of West Lafayette executives and regional campus chancellors, have approved or revised several system-wide policies effective November 1. Affected policies include performance evaluation, HIPAA privacy compliance, adverse weather conditions, and access to student records. Contact Dimples Smith at 481-6681 or Melissa Helmsing at 481-5720 for policy clarification.

IPFW to Test Emergency Notification System as Part of National Test
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Federal Communications Commission will conduct the first-ever national test of the Emergency Alert System at 2 p.m. today (November 9). IPFW will take part in the test by issuing a test message using its Emergency Notification System. The IPFW test will also take place at 2 p.m.

If any student, staff, or member of the faculty has not already signed up for an Alert Phone Number, this is the perfect time to do so. Just go to myipfw.edu

Native American Heritage Month
Teri Cardwell IPFW will celebrate Native American Heritage Month with a special presentation, Thursday, November 10, from noon to 1:15 p.m. in the Walb Union Ballroom.

Teri Cardwell, coordinator of special services programs at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis, will present "Native American Spirituality and Healthcare," and Dani Tippmann, native plant expert and director of the Whitley County Historical Museum, will share "Stories of the Plant and Its Correlation to Native American Healthcare."
