One Book Program Encourages Community to Discuss Feminism

In Get to Work...And Get A Life Before It's Too Late, Linda R. Hirshman tells women to pursue and stick with a career, rather than accept traditional notions of femininity against their own best interests. Get to Work is the selection for the 2011 One Book Program sponsored by Women's Studies. Hirshman will present a free public lecture Wednesday, September 21; a luncheon and book discussion will be held Wednesday, September 28. Read the story... 
IPFW Grads Create TwoEE's Winery

IPFW graduates Eric Harris and Emily Hart are planning to open a $1.5 million winery in Huntington next spring, TwoEE's Winery, which will sell an assortment of wines and related merchandise. The 6,000 sq. ft. business will feature a tasting room with outside walking trails. Read the story...

  • Alumna, feminine singular
  • Alumnus, masculine singular or gender unknown
  • Alumni, plural form
  • Alumnae, feminine plural
  • Don't use alum, which is a chemical compound  

This week's question: Which sentence is correct? 

  1. The field trip covers parts of Allen and Wells Counties.  
  2. The storm warning is for Whitley and Allen counties.
