RockFest Bigger, Badder 

RockFest will turn up the volume on 14 of Fort Wayne's best bands, Saturday, June 25, during IPFW's RiverFest 2011 presented by Steel Dynamics. Two stages sponsored by Tower Bank and Sweetwater will allow the music to keep flowing for 12 hours on the banks of the St. Joseph River.

Students Excel in EU Essay Contest
Euro

The IU European Union Center recently sponsored its first EU College Research Paper Competition. University undergrads from Indiana and Ohio were invited to submit papers on the EU's role as an international actor or on the relationship between the EU and the US.

 

The top three winners included two IPFW students: Caitlin May Cooper, "European Neighborhood Policy and Eastern Partnership: More or Less than a Blueprint for Reform?" and Michael Shanabarger, "Kosovo and the European Union." Read the story...

Have a Ball at Summerfest 2011
Summerfest 2011 logoSummerfest, IPFW's annual employee appreciation day, is coming up soon on June 29. This year's theme is "Take Me Out to the Ball Game!"

A free lunch is available to all employees who preregister, and there are door prizes and events including euchre, putt-putt, bingo, a bake sale and auction, and a two-mile walk/run. Some events require preregistration, so be sure to sign up! Attendance is limited to employees and retirees.
Test Your IPFW Editorial Style

There were 15 responses to last week's question, "Which office name is correct: Alumni Relations, the Alumni Relations office, or the alumni office?" All submitted answers were correct, depending on the context. Official names are capitalized; unofficial, informal, shortened, or generic names are not. This applies to names of offices, buildings, schools, and departments. 

 

Which of these is incorrect?

  1. The latest discovery by Professor John Smith ...
  2. John Smith, associate professor of anthropology ...
  3. John Smith, associate professor of Anthropology ...
