Continuing Studies Sweeps Indiana Council for Continuing Education Awards

Sheri CrawfordJim GabbardPam CookThe Indiana Council for Continuing Education (ICCE) awards program acknowledges contributions of faculty and staff who have enhanced the quality and/or value of continuing education at their institutions, and students who epitomize the essence of the nontraditional adult learner. This year, the Division of Continuing Studies is proud to announce that all three of their nominees have won in their respective categories: Pam Cook, Support Staff of the Year; Jim Gabbard, Faculty/Instructor of the Year; and Sheri Crawford, Student of the Year.

National Urban League President Marc Morial Visits IPFW Tomorrow

Marc Morial National Urban League President Marc H. Morial will speak at IPFW Thursday, Feb. 24, at 6:30 p.m. in the Auer Recital Hall. Morial will focus on employment and its impact on the urban community as well as civility. The lecture is free and open to the public, and will be followed by a Q&A session.

 

Morial's visit is being sponsored by the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs and the Fort Wayne Urban League.

"March Mayhem" will conclude with a live auction Monday, Feb. 28, at noon in the Walb Ballroom. All staff and faculty are welcome, and desserts and drinks will be provided.

 

A new auction format has been adopted this year: items being offered in the online auction won't be available in the live auction and vice-versa. If you can't make it to the live auction, you can still be a winner!

Diversity Showcase Celebrates Civility
IPFW students The theme of this year's Diversity Showcase on March 24 is "Celebrating Diversity Through Civility, Appreciation, and Awareness." Departments and groups are invited to submit a proposal to reserve a table for displays; the reservation deadline is March 4. Please complete the reservation form at your earliest convenience. In the National Spotlight

Julie Creek, Center for Women and Returning Adults coordinator, wrote an article for the online edition of the AARP Bulletin. The story is about Lilly Nutter, a 98-year-old great-great-grandmother who has sent more than 1,000 care packages to U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
