Webcast of Purdue Senate meeting
Information on proposed 2011 medical benefits plan

This morning (Oct. 6) Purdue announced that on Thursday, Oct. 7, at 9 a.m. there will be a live webcast of the Purdue Senate meeting. Although all senate meetings are open to the public, this is the first meeting to be broadcast live. It has been the practice at Purdue to provide information on the upcoming year's medical benefits that will be presented to the Board of Trustees for approval.

The live webcast of the meeting will be available via Windows Media Player at mms://video.dis.purdue.edu/BNSMobile.

The discussion will include a broad picture of the health benefits at Purdue including overall health trends and cost saving strategies. They will present the proposed 2011 Medical Plan Design to the Board of Trustees on Oct. 14 and 15 for approval.

The information being presented tomorrow regarding the 2011 medical benefits is proposed and subject to change. What is known is that your packets for 2011 Open Enrollment will be mailed to your campus address on Oct. 26, 2010. Open enrollment will be online this year and Human Resource benefit administrators will be scheduling several general sessions and one-on-one sessions to present the medical plan options for 2011.

As always, Human Resources is committed to providing information and assistance to the faculty and staff at IPFW. You may contact Tina Grady at 260-481-6684, Tina Sullivan at 260-481-6683 or Rose Costello at 260-481-6677 with any questions or concerns.
