Purdue Board of Trustees Will Consider Retirement Incentive on August 30 By Vice Chancellor Walter Branson, financial affairs
Purdue's Board of Trustees is expected to consider a proposal to offer a retirement incentive to Purdue faculty and staff on August 30. If the Board approves the proposal, the incentive will be offered beginning September 1, bringing with it a temporary change that I want to make you aware of.
With the rollout of the retirement incentive offering, the University's Voluntary Early Partial Retirement (VEPR) program will be temporarily suspended through October 29. During the retirement incentive window, no new VEPR arrangements will be approved. We will fully reinstate the program Oct. 30, 2010.
Following the reinstatement, faculty and staff members who wish to request VEPR approval should follow the Business@Purdue protocol to initiate the standard review and decision process. Executive Memorandum C-32 mentioned in the Business@Purdue protocol can be found here.
Should the Board decide not to offer the retirement incentive, the VEPR program will continue without suspension.
The official notice of meeting and information to access the meeting via Webcast is available here (PDF).
