| Stress Free HolidayTips pt 2 | |
Take just 1 hour this week - you will be surprised how much this will help you. Update your small holiday 'journal' that you can carry with you.
1. Budget for Holiday Spending - how much are you spending for each person? If you don't plan, you will overspend! Go over that list of people you need to get gifts for. Come up with some ideas that you know they will really appreciate, that won't break the bank. Start looking at gift ideas now (we are a great place to look for affordable unique gifts). Purchase items that you find so you don't panic in December and spend too much, just to make sure everyone is covered. Planning ahead reduces stress AND saves you money. Don't forget to pick up a few inexpensive gifts that would be great last minute grab bag/hostess gifts to have around.
2. Decide now not to overcommit - You can gracefully decline from too many holiday activities. Decide to simplify your holidays so you can enjoy them more.
3. Check your holiday wardrobe - what do you have that you can make festive without breaking the bank? Add a colorful scarf, jacket, jazzy shoes ... accessorize so you don't need a complete outfit. Do you have some basics in your wardrobe that can cover casual to dressy? I know a cool store that you may find some of these......
4. Ask family members for their favorite holiday food. Pick one of everyone's favorite, and leave the rest to next year.
5. Simplify, Simplify, Simplify - that can be the most positive holiday affirmation/mantra you can have!
