Marcia A.  Gevers, 63, died Saturday, June 26, 2010 at her residence.  Born in Ft. Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Berniece (Lepper) Gevers.  She was a very active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church (Soest), Fort Wayne, Via de Cristo, League for the Blind and Toastmasters. Marcia was a retired schoolteacher, who had  taught 5th grade at Wyneken School, and also taught at Vocational Rehabilitation Services of Fort Wayne.

She is survived by her sisters: Connie ( Robert )  Frye of Ft. Wayne and Lois ( Ronald  ) Howe of Quincy, MI; nieces and nephews:  Sarah Howe, Emily (Brian) Piggott, Andrew Howe, Robert J. (Marietta) Frye, Kristine Frye and great niece, Victoria K. Frye.        . 

Service is 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church (Soest), 9909 Wayne Trace, Fort Wayne with calling one hour prior.  The Rev. Albert Bierlein officiating.  Calling is also 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.  Preferred memorials are to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Worship for Shut-ins, or Donor's Choice.
