Eleven years ago I began visiting the Church of the Good Shepherd in Athens, Ohio. It started out as a vestry workshop and over time I've done some quiet days, preached and have been meeting with people several times a year for spiritual direction. During these eleven years we have received twenty-two Associates.
These Associates have come together with other friends at the Church of the Good Shepherd and held two events this summer to support our capital campaign for Bluestone Farm and Living Arts Center. The first was a flea market that was held on a Saturday in July at the homes of Julie Nehls and Jean and Barry Thomas. People purchased everything from furniture, housewares, and electronics to crystal.

The second was a brunch that was held on Sunday, August 26th, after church. They offered a gourmet smorgasbord of delicious home made breakfast casseroles, juice, coffee cake, pastries, fruit and beverages.
We are so grateful to all those who helped collect items, move them, set up, staff and clean up after the flea markets and to those who prepared food, set up, cleaned up and patronized the brunch. Their spirit and generosity have raised over $1500 at these two events!
