Dear friends,
As summer begins its winding-down process, we are thrilled to share some good news with you (see "Donor of the Day"), and to look forward to our 59th Foundation Day celebration on August 27 at the Melrose Convent.
I'm sending this a bit early ----- partly because both houses are extremely busy, so we're taking an "article sabbatical" this month, and partly because we are anticipating the arrival of Irene, the much talked-about hurricane headed our way. Both of our convents appear to be directly in the path of the eye, should there still be an eye to the storm formation when it reaches us. In any event, many of us on the East Coast are in for a rough few days.
Let us keep each other, and all those who have been and will be affected by this hurricane, in our prayers. If you live in this area, get those hatches battened and find a safe haven to ride out the the worst of this storm. In the meantime, we continue to offer our prayers daily for our many friends, Associates and supporters, and we ask that you pray for us as well as we continue to listen to the still small voice of God and to be guided by the Holy Spirit as we embrace our expanding vision for the Community.
