UU and You - Coming of Age For UUCF 9th Graders
 |
Director of RE Linnea Nelson
|
In the space of a few years our youth transform into fully functional adults. Beyond growth spurts, social networking and growing independence (think car keys!) - spiritual development is simultaneously occurring. "UU and You" - our "Coming of Age" program - will meet at 9:15 a.m. this fall to support our 9th graders.
They will explore their spiritual and religious identity while creating a path for themselves within UUCF, our Unitarian Universalist community and the world.
First, please sign up for RE by Sat., Sep. 1 , and then email Helen Rose to specifically request the "Coming of Age" class. If we do not have 10 students by Sep. 1, we will postpone the class until next year and students registered will become part of the 9-12th-grade youth programming. If an older youth has not yet taken Coming of Age, he or she is invited to request the class through Helen. There is a $75 materials fee ($125 for nonmembers).

Wanted: Clowns, Face Painters and Game Organizers
Ingathering 2012 - Sat., Sep. 8, 5:30 p.m.
There's a lot of hidden talent out there. After last week's announcements, we lined up a fortune teller, face painter, balloon animal maker and a ventriloquist to entertain us at the Ingathering Picnic. Do you have a hidden, fun talent you can share? We're still looking for people to set up and organize volleyball and croquet. Clowns and extra face painters would also be a plus. Please contact Mary Foster, 703-281-4230, and tell her how you can help on Sep. 8.
