Join us for
"The BIG Thank You" This Saturday Night
The "BIG Thank You" is a celebration of YOU. It's a way for the staff to thank all of our volunteers for all you do. We'll have a barbecue dinner, great music and a skit by the staff in your honor. This is a family-friendly event and children are welcome to stay throughout the program, however, for those who would prefer child care, nursery care will be available throughout the evening and child care available after dinner in the Program Building
(RSVP for childcare by May 10 with number and ages of children).
- Sat., May 12, after the 4:30 p.m. service.
- Music by Celtic fusion band, Tinsmith.
- RSVP by Thu., May 10, so we have plenty of food or everyone.

Celebrate Mother's Day through music as the Chorale presents its annual spring Music Service at all three services this weekend. Exploring themes of nurture, guidance and inspiration, "Songs My Mother Taught Me" will feature a variety of music styles, and will include solos by Rev. Laura Horton-Ludwig and guest soprano Marlissa Hudson.

Partnership Around the Beltway: Greater Washington Area Partner Church Council Meeting. Sat., May 12, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., UUCF. Drumming for the Spirit, Drumming for Peace. Sundays, 3-4 p.m., This week in the Library. Suggested donation: $1-$10/session. Our drum circle is led by guest percussionist, Kofi Dennis. Kofi hails from Ghana and has performed all over the DC area, including the Kennedy Center and Wolf Trap. His engaging rhythms and storytelling will inspire. Bring your own drum or use one provided. Got a Great Idea for the UUCF Endowment Fund's First Annual Grant?
UUCF's Endowment Committee wants your suggestions for how to spend the first Endowment Fund grant of up to $10,000 in June. Any UUCF voting member may submit suggestions. The UUCF Bylaws state that purposes for the distribution of income can include 1) maintenance of buildings, capital improvements and renovation, or debt reduction; 2) community outreach; and 3) the wider mission of Unitarian Universalism. The UUCF Booth at ViVA Vienna Needs You! Sun. & Mon., May 27 & 28. UUCF will once again have a booth at this annual festival. Volunteers are needed for a variety of shifts throughout the two days. Contact Rich Williams if you can help. If you're at the festival Sunday or Monday, stop by booth #121, Church Street, between Lawyers Road and Center Street.
Ragan Oaks Community Center. Volunteers are needed one hour per week in the following areas: ESL Teachers, GED Teachers, Homework Help for Elementary School Children, Homework Help for Middle/High School Students, Computer Lab and Senior Boys and Girls Groups. These positions offer rewarding experiences working with underprivileged youth. It's easy and fun. If you are interested, please contact Steve Myles.
