WDDC 2012 Luncheon

Date: November 14
Time: 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Location: The LUX (120 E. First St.)

Join us on November 14th to find out how Oklahoma City transformed its downtown with our speaker, former Oklahoma CIty Mayor Kirk Humphreys.

Mayor Humphreys is a native of Oklahoma City, OK and a 1972 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Business Administration.

From 1972 until 1989, Mayor Humphreys and his brothers built a distribution company which provided beauty products and other non-food merchandise to retailers nationwide. Since then, Mayor Humphreys has been active in real estate development and currently serves as Chairman of the Humphreys Company, a real estate development firm with properties in seven states. Noted projects include Carlton Landing, a 1600-acre city development on Lake Eufaula in southeastern Oklahoma, and The Waterfront, a redevelopment project on the site of the former Downtown Airpark on the Oklahoma River in Downtown Oklahoma City.

Known across Oklahoma for his public service, Mayor Humphreys served on the Putnam City School Board from 1987 through 1995. He was twice elected Mayor of Oklahoma City, serving from 1998 through 2003. Under his leadership, the city completed a number of noted MAPS Projects which dramatically revitalized the downtown area. In 2001, Mayor Humphreys led the effort that resulted in the approval of MAPS for Kids, a sweeping $690 million revitalization of the city's public schools. He is Chairman of the Oklahoma District Council of the Urban Land Institute and serves on the board of OGE Energy Corp.

We hope that you are able to join us for the luncheon on November 14; there is limited seating available so be sure to purchase your tickets in advance.
