Dolly Parton penned the music and lyrics for this stage adaptation of the hit film comedy, which hilariously involves the wacky adventures of three working women who eventually achieve revenge on their chauvinistic boss. The title tune from the film (also written by Dolly) gets the show off to a lively start, and the new songs are a catchy and tuneful collection of musical fun. Call 316-265-3107 for tickets.

While at the St. Francis Street Celebration tomorrow stop by a postage station, located at Mr. Diggs Dwelling & Co. and Zelman's, to "send some love."
WDDC's workshop on April 17, 2012 with Peter Kageyama, author For the Love of Cities challenged attendees to create an idea to improve the City with only $500. WDDC funded the top three ideas. From Wichita with Love being one of them. The project's idea is to send a postcard to a band, business or friend you wish was in Wichita. The receiver will post a photo of themselves with the postcard to the social media accounts of From Wichita With Love. The first postcard design is out and is available at many Downtown locations, including during the Street Celebration. Drop by one of the two postcard stations and send a postcard. Simply fill out a card and place it in the basket at each station. The postcards collected will be mailed following the event. For more information (and to see where these postcards are starting to go around the world) check out the following links:

NEED MONEY FOR AN ART PROJECT?
|
|
WeMakeArtHappen.com is based on micro-giving, also called micro-funding or crowd-sourcing. It's basically this: You need $20,000 for an art project but you don't know anyone with pockets that deep. So, instead of asking one person or maxing out your credit cards, you put your project details on this web site. Now you can ask 2,000 people, 20,000 people, 200,000 people or more who believe in what you're doing to collaborate with you by donating small gifts toward your project.
To get involved, all you have to do is submit a short pitch of your project idea to our team, create the categories and rewards for different levels of "collaborators" and once your project is posted it's up to you to generate buzz and awareness. Tell everyone you know. Post social media messages until your fingers are raw. Scream from the top of your house. Market yourself. Do whatever you have to do to draw people to your project page. We're about community building here, about sparking change and helping ideas spread. More info
