II KANSAS LEADERSHIP CENTER & KANSAS HEALTH FOUNDATION CONFERENCE CENTER

The Kansas Health Foundation Releases Architectural Drawings for it's New Kansas Leadership Center

The Kansas Health Foundation unveiled its Douglas Avenue expansion plan which will include 36,000 square feet of meeting rooms and headquarters space for the Kansas Leadership Center in Downtown. The architectural renderings released showcase a 3-story building with a mostly glass facade along Douglas. The new $8.6 million project is scheduled to commence construction in the summer 2012 and utilizes their current surface parking lot for the expansion. The Foundation and Leadership Center will utilize the City's new parking garage adjacent to the site for employees and visitors. The expansion marks the first new construction along this section of Douglas Ave in approximately 38 years.

Downtown Clean Up
Downtown Clean Up Day - curb painting

On Saturday, April 14th the WDDC, YPW and the City of Wichita hosted Downtown Clean Up Day. It was a huge success! We had nearly one hundred citizens join us despite the unfavorable weather forecast and as a result, downtown looks great. Downtown Clean Up projects included: powerwashing sidewalks, curb painting, parking stall painting, street and sidewalk sweeping, decal and graffiti removal, bed maintenance and landscaping projects and trash pick-up. A big thanks to our fabulous volunteers!
