Bare Necessities Drop-Off Drive: A group of volunteers seeking to raise about diversity issues in the community have organized an unusual benefit to help the Wichita Children's Home.  The idea is to ask everyone attending this month's Final Friday to bring donations of diapers, socks and underwear to CityArts.  Alternative locations are the Wichita Children's Home, 810 N. Holyoke, Sedgwick County Fire Stations located at 4343 N. Woodlawn in Bel Aire and 7750 N. Wild West Drive in Park City or drop off boxes will be placed on all the Downtown Trolleys during the evening.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee: Cabaret Oldtown - 412 E. Douglas. 8 pm. Hysterical, Tony nominated, musical comedy, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, comes to Wichita! Rated R (Adult Themes). Featuring Wichita's most popular performers and the Amazing Cabaret Oldtown Band. Fridays and Saturdays 8pm. It's creating quite a buzz...call 316-265-4400 early to make your reservations!

Summer Concert Series: Waterwalk Place Garden Plaza - 515 S. Main. 8 pm. The concerts will be held for six consecutive Fridays. This week the featured band is Much Love with Rudy Love. A variety of food and beverages vendors will be on hand. Guests are asked to bring lawn chairs and non-alcoholic beverages are allowed. Plenty of free parking is available in the WaterWalk Parking Garage and the garage adjacent to Gander Mountain, as well as nearby surface parking lots and street parking.

Old Town Farmers Mkt.

Old Town Farmers Market: The Old Town Farmers' Market, 1st and Mosley, 7 am. It is an exciting and bountiful place to buy your fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, eggs, baked goods and plants. Along with yummy and green things, find lots of unique, artistic and handmade treasures. There are tie dyes, jewelry, oils & incense, treats for your canine friend and much more.

Chef's demos at 9am and live local musicians from 10-noon make supporting local growers fun!

We are excited to welcome back KIDS CORNER this year. Each week between 9-11am there will be a fun craft to make, an original coloring sheet drawn by Jaki McElroy and a relaxing spot where kids can listen to & read stories.  

  

6th Annual Art of the Bicycle Swap Meet: Go Away Garage - 508 S. Commerce. 8am and 7pm.. Ride on by on Saturday the 30th, for the swap meet.

Buskers Welcome

Did you know that buskers, another term for street performers, are welcome in Downtown Wichita?  While no license is required, performers are not permitted to sell merchandise.  However, tipping is allowed and encouraged.  So, the next time you encounter a busker - stop, look and listen - then remember to tip more than just your hat!
