Mosley Street Melodrama

Mosley Street Melodrama: 234 N. Mosley. 263-0222. 6:00 pm. Current production is Glee: The Melodrama. Show runs Thursday, Friday, and Saturday Evenings. Doors open at 6:00pm, the buffet opens at 6:15pm, and the show starts at 7:50pm. Dinner & Show Tickets - $26 (aduluts), $22 (age 60+), $20 (ages 12 & under). Show Only Tickets - $16 all ages.

 

Jazz Animation Film Festival: Orpheum - 200 N. Broadway. 263-0884. 7pm.Tickets are just $5, and $4 for seniors, military, and students!

Daughter of the Regiment

Care-a-Thon: Old Town Square - 2nd & Mead. 7 am. Swing by Oldtown Square on Arbor Day for the fifth annual Care-a-Thon event. Associated Advertising will be giving away 1,000 (limit one per person on a first come-first serve basis) to our community in hopes of safeguarding our air quality and reminding people that, over its lifetime, a tree will remove one ton of harmful ozone gases and make our lawns, parks and community beautiful in the process. This event will be from 7 am to 9:30 am.

 

The Fifth Fisch Haus Women's Invitational Exhibition - XX/V: Fisch Haus - 524 S. Commerce. 8 am. 263-6770. XXV is the fifth in a now bi-annual invitational exhibition series that will feature five different female artists each year; every new group of participants being chosen by the previous five. This "tag" structure should, through its natural progression, offer the Wichita community an expansive range of work, both geographically and stylistically. There is no set criteria for acceptable medium or genre, as long as the work is unique and exceptional.

 

Wichita Art Stars in Fabulous 2-D: Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum - 204 S. Main. 5 pm. This exhibit continues the Museum's third year of focus on our local visual arts heritage and presents a portion of the pantheon of remarkable visual arts hailing from our area through the years. All four floor exhibitis will be open to the public - free of charge for this Final Friday evening event.

 

Final Friday Art Crawl: Various Venues. 6 pm. Hours vary between different galleries but all are open during the core hours of 7 pm to 9 pm. The event is free and open the the public.

Shock the YardTallgrass Filmmakers Lab - Props for Stage & Screen: Shopkeepers Gallery/Hewitt's Antiques - 228 N. Market. 2 pm. Tallgrass Filmmakers Lab presents Props for Stage and Screen with prop master/art director Tom Mittlestadt. Shock the Yard - Midwest step show 2011: Orpheum Theatre - 200 N. Broadway. 7pm. The Multicultural Greek Council at Wichita State University proudly presents the second annual "Shock the Yard" Midwest Step Show 2011. General seating is available. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door and can be purchased at www.selectaseat.com.

River City Brewery 

Located in the heart of OldTown in Wichita, Kansas, The River City Brewing Co. is Wichita's only brewpub still in operation. Here at River City Brewery you will find six different styles of microbrews, including their ever changing seasonal beer that celebrates the diversity of beer from all around the world. Don't be mistaken by their name, they offer more than just brew. Come in and check out their menu that includes buffalo and Kansas raised beef, but it that's not all. Final Friday

Final Friday is an opportunity for people of all ages to go out and enjoy some local art. Like the name hints at, Final Friday happens every month on the last Friday of the month. Over 30 art galleries participate in Final Friday, and many of them unveil and display new shows. Take the Q-Line for a free ride around Downtown and visit all the participating venues.
