Academy Awards

Academy Award Shorts - The 1990s: Central Library. 223 S. Main. 261-8500. 6:30 pm. We'll screen selected animated, live action, and documentary short films, decade by decade. Films not rated and recommended for adult audiences. (90 minutes)

Final FridayFinal Friday Art Crawl: Downtown Wichita. 7pm. Hours vary between different galleries but all are open during core hours of 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Most galleries use Final Friday to unveil and debut new shows. The event is free and open to the public and several galleries provide light refreshments.  Find a map of galleries here.
 

Do It Again ticket giveaways - Gallery XII, Mead's Corner, and Old Mill Tasty Shop.  On Friday, February 18th the TFA will present an encore presentation of the 2010 Tallgrass Film Festival favorite DO IT AGAIN with filmmaker and Boston Globe arts reporter Geoff Edgers. Visit participating venues starting today to register to win free tickets to the event.  5 pairs of tickets will be given out each week leading up to the event.  No purchase necessary, but a donation is gladly accepted!

The students from Northfield School of Liberal Arts will perform monologues, scenes, and erupt into song celebrating our state's sesquicentennial. Happy Kansas Day! (60 minutes)

Wichita Symphony OrchestraThe Wichita Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1944 and is one of the oldest arts organizations in Kansas.  The WSO is a wonderful opportunity for Wichitans of all ages to come and experience the symphony.  The Blue Jeans Concerts is an affordable opportunity for all to come enjoy the symphony without worrying about what to wear.  Enjoy the symphony this weekend and experience a nearly 70 year old tradition.
