The City of Wichita and Wichita Downtown
Development Corporation have partnered in bringing the popular parkdowntown.org website
to touchscreen phones. The application allows
easy usability that expands the map to fit to the smaller size screen.
The site has the same features as the desktop
version, including parking lot pricing, entertainment venues, shopping
and restaurants. In addition, complete schedule and route
information for the Q-Line is available.
"We've made downtown parking information
accessible by offering it and much more in an easy to use platform, says
Wichita Downtown Development Corporation President Jeff Fluhr.
"We've brought downtown into the palm of your hand."
By choosing different category options, users have
the ability to search for specific information such as hours of operation,
addresses, phone numbers and other pertinent information right at their
fingertips.
The mobile map is part of the Downtown Parking and
Mobility plan, commissioned by SMG and the City of Wichita.
