New Online Idea Exchange for Academicians

Joanne M. Conroy M.D., AAMC's Chief Health Care Officer, has announced the creation of a new online idea exchange, WingOfZock.org. The resource is designed to allow faculty, residents, and administrators at academic medical centers across the country to share their best practices as they implement new strategies and initiatives to transform the nation's health care system. The site will feature posts on patient safety and engagement, care delivery innovations, quality, payment reform, technology, and many other topics that affect the treatment of patients and the education of tomorrow's doctors. The site's inaugural post, authored by Peter L. Slavin, MD, president of Massachusetts General Hospital, is a commentary on why this kind of open and honest exchange of ideas is vital to the future of academic medicine. You can also follow the site on Twitter @wingofzock. (The blog's name, "Wing of Zock," will be recognized by readers of the 1975 novel "The House of God.")
