Call for Carolyn L. Braddom Research Award Nominations 

The AAP Research Council would like to solicit nominations for the Carolyn L. Braddom Research Award:

This award is presented to an individual (preferably a physiatrist and an Association member) who, over a previous five-year period, has conducted research that has had the most significant impact on the science and practice of PM&R.  The intent is to look at research outcome rather than publication.  The same individual can win the award only once in a ten-year period.  The individual will be presented with a plaque and a monetary award of $750 from the Braddom endowment at the 2012 AAP Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, NV.  A poster, video, or handout of the research should be made available at the Annual Meeting.

Worker's Comp and Disability Assessments Survey

The University of Missouri Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is conducting a survey concerning the training of residents and fellows in worker's compensation and disability assessments. This survey consists of 18 yes or no questions and should take less than 5 minutes to complete. Your responses will be anonymous. Joel A. DeLisa, MD, MS, a past chair of the AAMC Council of Academic Societies and Chair of PM&R at UMDNJ New Jersey Medical School, has been awarded the Derrick T. Vail Award, the highest recognition bestowed by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
