Online Submission for 2011 AAP Annual Meeting Papers and Posters is offically open! Please visit the AAP website to view instructions and guidelines and to submit your abstract. All abstracts must be submitted online by October 15, 2010.
The number of abstracts to be presented at the 2011 AAP Annual Meeting has been limited to 350. Only the highest-quality abstracts will be selected.

2011 AAP Call for Papers & Posters
Online Submission
The Abstract Online Submission process via the AAP website now provides a unique opportunity for co-authors to collaborate in reviewing and submitting abstracts. All co-authors have the ability to preview and comment on their abstracts and all co-authors must approve the final content before the submission is official, increasing accountability and quality. In addition, the process is streamlined by collecting all disclosure and copyright agreements in a convenient electronic format. MedEdPORTAL seeks poster presentations for the 2010 AAMC Annual Meeting which demonstrate either the implementation or the proposed solution of an innovative educational activity to address the future state of academic medicine. Authors are strongly encouraged to reference MedEdPORTAL publications.
Proposals are due by August 27, 2010 at 5:00pm Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).

AMGA Announces Grant
American Medical Group Foundation Offers up to $10,000
The American Medical group Association (AMGA) announced on July 1st, 2010 an American Medical Group Foundation (AMGF) research project that will develop insights and resources to help healthcare providers improve care for patients with multiple chronic conditions. Organizations that are selected to participate in the advisory group for a learning collaborative dedicated to managing these patients may receive reimbursement of up to $10,000. AMGF is conducting this research project in collaboration with Merck Sharp & Dohme Corp., a subsidiary of Merck & Co., Inc.

Nine New CTSA Awards
Nine health research centers have received funds to develop ways to reduce the time it takes for clinical research to become treatments for patients. The funds were awarded as part of the Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) program which is led by the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR), part of the National Institutes of Health. Staffing Announcements
The AAP is pleased to announce the promotion of Katie Adair to Meetings and Membership Manager. Katie joined the AAP National Office staff in Baltimore, MD two years ago, directing member services and Annual Meeting registration. In this new position, Katie will be in charge of all Annual Meeting responsibilities, in addition to her current duties. Katie has over 16 years of association and meeting planning experience including space allocation and set-up; food and beverage, and A/V management; organizing speakers and sessions; exhibitor relations; and, coordinating meeting travel arrangements.
The AAP wishes to thank previous Meetings Manager, Lynn Lawson, for her 14 years of dedicated service in ensuring the growth and success of the AAP Annual Meeting.
Vincent A. Fields, Sr., who has served the AAP since 2002, is no longer with the Association and is pursuing other career interests.
