Bring the family for a day of raptor fun at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, as we host our 11th Annual Eagle Festival on Saturday, March 12.
The Eagle Festival is our most popular event of the year and will run from 8am to 4pm on Saturday. All events are free.
Activities include a live peregrine falcon presentation, a live bald eagle program, a photography workshop, eagle prowls on the Wildlife Drive with our experienced leaders, as well as fun events for the kids such as an owl pellet exploration, bald eagle puppet construction, and an opportunity to design a wildlife t-shirt.
As of last weekend, a large number of snow geese and tundra swans were still visible at the Refuge, and the first osprey of the season was spotted on March 5, with more to follow any day.
Food and drinks will be available throughout the Festival, and events will be held rain or shine.
