Trunk Show & Design Event featuring Designer Gary Ewing

 

a wonderful and original goldsmith from Hawaii, who will be showcasing his new "Midnite Collection" of fine jewelry. Gary and Marlowe & Company owner Lydia Wilson have collaborated for over 17 years beginning when they first worked together at Gleim Jewelers in Palo Alto. As a special "twist" to the Trunk Show, Gary & Lydia can also custom design for you during the event on Saturday and Sunday. We encourage you to bring in your older jewelry to redesign into a new updated look! Please call to schedule a redesign appointment. 

 

 Born and raised in San Francisco, Gary Ewing began studying gemstone cutting, jewelry design and manufacturing at age 22 under late Brynulf Gjerstad in Oslo, Norway; laying the foundation for his fine European craftsmanship. When he returned to California in 1980, Gary worked as a developed apprentice at the prestigious Gleim Jewelers in Palo Alto, California with several master goldsmiths. In 1984 he opened his own jewelry design studio and showroom in Northern California, specializing in original one of a kind handmade fine jewelry and the art of antique restoration. Gary is currently located on Maui.

 "As a prolific artist, I have many pieces of work in progress and when I create a unique piece of jewelry for a client from my designs or from their ideas or passion, it is truly one of a kind." As much as he loves his work, the most rewarding moment is the customer's total satisfaction: "that's what empowers me," says Gary Ewing.

During the Trunk Show, Gary will be showing his new Midnite Collection: "Each creation in "Midnite Collection" is designed, named and handmade from my observations of human nature. Hard edges, soft curves with a powerful blend of form and function, down to the final details." Each piece is created primarily in recycled gold with fine diamonds and gemstones to accent the unique designs. Each design is now also available in sterling silver.
