Please be invited to the Danish-Estonian Chamber of Commerce's Christmas party of 2011, taking place in the center of Tallinn, at the tavern-style Kaval-Ants in the courtyard of Von Stackelberg hotel. Magic and jolly entertainment, food and drinks, fun and laughter in a cosy, informal atmosphere. This year we have also invited the Polish Business Club and Tallinn International Rotary Club members to join us. The more the merrier!

The event calendar for 2012 shall be published in January jointly with the Danish Embassy and the Danish Cultural Institute. Keep alert! Don't miss anything!

 

Eesti Kodu in Denmark is inviting all Estonians living in Denmark to their Christmas party on November 27th at 15:00, where they celebrate traditional Estonian Christmas with Estonian food, songs and pastries. Children can expect a surprise! Musical performance by an Estonian student at Danish Royal Music Acadamy. Registration is required latest Nov 22. More information from here.

 

DECC, together with the Danish Embassy and the Danish Cultural Institute is looking for co-sponsors for a project lasting all through 2012. More information, please contact info@decc.ee

News from Copenhagen Post

* Marijuana users want to legalize its usage.

* Tax debt sets new recordDenmark's tax debt is skyrocketing. As of September 30, individual taxpayers and companies owed a total of 57.2 billion kroner to the government. That's equal to 10,259.50 kroner for every man, woman and child. Between 2009 and 2010 the tax debt grew by 3.6 billion kroner, from 49.9 to 53.3 billion. Debt increased by the same amount in just nine months this year, reports Avisen.dk, based on Tax Ministry figures.

* A 54-hour business marathon -  Copenhagen Start-Up Weekend took place Nov 18-20 under the slogan "No Talk. Just Action". The event is part of a grassroots entrepreneurship movement begun by the American non-profit Startupweekend.org. In just four years, Startup Weekends have spread to more than 350 cities around the globe. More information about the inititative here.

* Budget airline easyJet is considering establishing a base in Copenhagen from which to expand its operations, Politiken newspaper reports.
