Danish events in June

Every Dane always celebrates summer and there are in no problems to findgrilling reasons for celebration in June this year for sure. The DECC has therefore had an early celebration of "Summer Start" at a brand new restaurant Leib Resto & Aed already in the end of May. Photos of our event are available on our website.

In addition to princes birthday parties, June is a very active month. Just to give you a hint: *June 2 - a public holiday - Ascension Day; *June 5 - a public holiday - Danish Constitution Day when people meet up for socializing, and most of the shops stay closed; *June 13 - a public holiday - Whit Monday, a day when Danes celebrate two days of Whitsun; *June 15 the Dannebrog's Day, which is a celebration of Valdemar II of Denmark's victory in a battle in Estonia in 1219 at which Denmark got its national flag Dannebrog. *June 23 - Sankt Hans Aften for the celebration of summer soltice on June 24 with bonfires the evening before. A very busy month indeed!

Danes are sociable and easygoing. Therefore, the chamber allows you to enjoy and celebrate all these special days and stays in background. Though, we shall keep you informed of other events taking place all through the summer and wish you to have a good time both in Estonia and in Denmark!

Enjoy!

Merli
