a non-profit organization established in 2007. The purpose of the organization is to support economic relations between Denmark and Estonia, facilitate networking and  keep the members up to date with relevant news.

Meet new member:
5 long and busy weeks in October
 
The 5-weeks long month of October is soon to be finished. Lots has taken place: Nordic Open 2010 conference with more than 150 participants from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, enjoying a full day of inspiring presentations on how to enter the Scandinavian market and survive; Tallinn City organized an annual event Day of Entrepreneurship; there's the Investors' Summit coming up in the end of the month on October 29th. A month full of entrepreneural activities and motivation.

Before the month is over, we still have some news to bring for you. Stay tuned and remain active!

News on Baltics in English - meet the people behind "Baltic Business News, news2biz and �rip�ev"
Date/Place: October 25, 17:30-19:30, P�rnu mnt 105, 4th floor 
 
How are the new on Baltics made? Who makes the news? How to get to the news? What is behind BBN? What is news2biz? Those questions and more will be answered on Monday, Oct 25th after business hours at our member company Bonnier Business Press. Our hosts will be Meelis Mandel (�rip�ev), Priit H�bem�gi (BBN), and kertu Ruus (news2biz). You are welcome to ask all your questions. In case you will not be able to participate yourself, please send in your questions and I will ask them for you.

Participation: Free of Charge for everyone. Limited number of seats.

Investors' Summit 2010
Date/Time: October 29th, 9:00-13:30, Radisson Hotel, Hansa hall (R�vala pst 3, Tallinn)

The summit's main objective is to provide a forum to foreign company representatives to gather and discuss issues that are relevant to their work and could affect their operations.

The summit includes the following presentations:
  • Indrek Tarand "Estonia After Euro - the Next State Priority?";
  • Andrus Alber "Current Investment Climate and its Future";
  • Joakim Helenius "The Future of Estonian Export";
  • Margus Pauts "Case Study - Tallinn Industrial Park and Estonia's Export Potential"; and
  • Edmund Smolarek "The Future of Estonian Labour Market".
The summit is summoned with a panel discussion:
"Estonia's Dilemma - Subcontractors' Paradise or Development of Independent Brands?",
and finished by a lunch starting at 12:30.

Registration needed. DECC member companies 260.-/prs, non-members 500.-/prs.

* The summit is co-organized by the American, German and Swedish chambers of commerce in Estonia.

The Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has established an Academy of Export through which they organize seminars and discussions in the format of a club to coach entrepreneurs to compete on the global market. Next seminar already on Oct 11th by Magnus Westerberg. Many seminars are taking place in English. Read more about the program here.

October 27th
Artis Kino will show the first Danish movie ever to have won the "Foreign Laguage Film" - Oscar prize. The film Babettes g�stebud (1987) based on a book by Karen Blixen, has been considered one of the most valued gurmet' movies made in history. The movie will start at 18:30 and ticket price is 75 EEK. In case you'd like to also enjoy the buffet dinner by the Estonian food magazine's Oma Maitse 5th anniversary after the movie, then the ticket costs 250 EEK. Film is shown in French with Estonian subtitles and lasts 1h 42min.

  

October 30th

"Dia de los Muertos" - party organized by the Spanish-Estonian Chamber of Commerce will take place October 30th at Matkamaja (Raekoja plats 18), starting at 19:00. Dia de los Muertos (a day of death) is a holiday originated from Mexico, and celebrated with parties, parades, festivals all over Spain with people usually dressing up in costumes. Registration needed info@secc.ee. Participation 200 EEK including drinks and snacks.


October 28-30th
Food Fair 2010 will this year take place already for the 18th time at Pirita Fairs' Center (Pirita tee 28, Tallinn). Over 90 companies are taking part this year, amongst them are also represented 3 Danish companies: OK-Snacks A/S, Tex-Mex Group A/S, and Frimavafler A/S. The Danish Ambassador, H.E. Uffe A. Balslev will be there to open the Danish stand at C-107 on Thursday, October 28th at 11:30. All members of the Danish-Estonian Chamber of Commerce are warmly welcomed!

November 5th
Danish Cultural Insitute celebrates its' 20th anniversary with a book presentation at the National Library. "Kilde Taani suhetest Eestiga / Danish-Estonian Relations" is a book published in Estonian and for Estonian readers, compiled by Silvi Teesalu and published by the Danish Cultural Institute. The book presentation and a venue for the anniversary will take place at National Library on November 5th at 15:00. Registration needed at juubel20@dankultur.ee More information www.dankultur.ee

November 7th
The British-Estonian Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the annual Guy Fawkes Night at restaurant-lounge P�rl, Pirita beach, Meriv�lja tee 5. The event starts at 4pm. Registration needed.

November 10-11th
International Forum in Moscow "Integration of Russian Business into Global Markets as Competitiveness Improveness Strategy" with a match-making session on the first day will take place on November 10-11, Congress Center. The forum is devoted to bilateral negotiations between Russian industrial SME's in different sections of activities with business partnership proposals, including investment projects, and willing to identify potential business partners in the USA and Europe, that have shown interest with regard to Russian business proposals and projects or which, in their turn, are offering cooperation to Russian SME's. Organizers of the forum are: Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Russian Agency for Support for SME's, Russian Business Innovation Network, Russian Chamber of Commerce, Moscow Entrepreneurs Association, etc. Participants of the form are: SME's, SME associations, regional CCI's, regional SME support structures, scientific and research institutions, financial and credit institutions, venture funds and business angels, international organizations and mass-media means, federal, regional and municipal authorities.

November 19-20
Business mission to Kaliningrad on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Kaliningrad's Chamber of Commerce. More information from click here and info@erpp.ee

December 9th
The Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Estonia is celebrating the annual Christmas party at Meriton Grand hotel's Piano Bar (Paldiski mnt 4).
