Danish-Estonian Chamber of Commerce
 
a non-profit organization established in 2007. The purpose of the organization is to support economic relations between Denmark and Estonia, facilitate networking and  keep the members up to date with relevant news.

Welcome to autumn business season!
 
While Estonia was "suffering" from the heat wave and none could complain about the normally bad Estonian skiing weather, then some people were still working hard - a Danish-owned export marketing company Branding Estonia opened up its doors with the office and show room at the airport and makes a good offer for DECC members to use their facilities, Danish Embassy has announced changes about close-down of their commercial department. 
There're also interesting events coming up that enable to network and gain valuable information. Read more below.

The Danes vs Swedes Football Match
Date/Place: September 18th, 15:00, Arigato Sports Club, Tallinn
 
Once again just like the last year, the Danes and Swedes will have a competition in football. We have a cup to defend and keep at our hands.
Football_Challenge_Den_vs_SweThe competition will take place at Arigato Sports Club's articifial, outdoor football ground 2x30min at Rannam�isa tee 3, Tallinn. Anyone ready to play, please contact our team's captain Tommy Jensen at tel 520 0922 or by e-mail toj@tll.straitair.com The match will be played in team's shirts that will be handed out at Arigato.
 
Audience is most welcomed to come and support our team! Everyone is invited to enjoy a joint meal after the game at Arigato's cafe.

Extra information: No registration needed for the audience. Event is free of charge. Everyone pays for their own dinner.

The amendments that all legal entities have to undergo with the change of the currency, will be summoned up and presented by MAQS Law Firm. A guest speaker, Mr Siim Raie from the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will give a presentation on just pricing agreement campaign. In addition to everyone having the possibility to get to know the law firm and take a tour in the office, the seminar is also followed by a possibility for networking.

"The Future of Estonia - Just a Periphery of Scandinavia?"

A business seminar opened by H.E. Uffe A. Balslev, the Danish Ambassador, with a special guest speaker - Dr Erik Terk, a Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Estonian Development Fund, Director and one of the founders of the Estonian Institute of Future Studies.
 
Dr Erik Terk's presentation is about the future perspectives of Estonia's development in 10-15 years ahead, and more specifically the positioning of Estonia in relation to the Scandinavian countries. He will give the reseachers' opinion on Estonia's achievements compared to Scandinavia and what is expecting us in the near future. Q&A and a discussion in the end of the presentation.

Nordic Open 2010 conference
Date/Place: Friday, October 8, Tallink Spa & Conference hotel 
 
A Nordic-Baltic business seminar and a networking event jointly organized by the Danish, Swedish and the Estonian-Swedish Chambers of Commerce. The seminar and networking session is open for all entrepreneurs with an interest or/and involvement with Nordic-Baltic businesses. The objective of the conference is to expand economic cooperation between Nordic and Baltic entrepreneurs. Cultural differences in everyday business life, inspiration for new exports, and looking on how enterprises can profit by developing and implementing innovative and environmentally friendly technologies will all be in the conference's agenda.
 
Keynote speakers include Joakim Helenius, Chairman of Trigon Capital, and Juhan Bernardt, Founder of the Estonian Export Academy.
 
Panel presentations will cover areas like business traditions, environmentally friendly production, innovation technologies, and creative branch cluster cooperation.

MAQS Law Firm informs that there have been changes made in the Danish Company Law. Read about the specific changes from here.
 
The Royal Danish Embassy in Tallinn announces that the commercial department in the embassy has been closed due to reorganization. The closest commercial counsellor will reside in Finland. Therefor the embassy in Tallinn will no longer be able to assist Danish companies with traditional services offered so far. Though the embassy refers to local trustworthy companies. Any company wishing to be listed at the Danish Embassy for offering their services, please contact the embassy.
 
The Danish Cultural Institute announces that the Danish language courses for beginners as well as for advanced speakers have started from the beginning of September.
