Monthly YR General Meeting | |
This month's speakers will be Dave Drebes and John Combest.
The Monthly General meeting will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 7:30 PM at The Jefferson Grill in Downtown Kirkwood, which is located at 125 West Jefferson Ave, Kirkwood, Missouri 63122. The meetings are held in the private room to the left side of the restaurant. You are welcome to purchase food and/or drinks during the meeting.

- Dave Drebes -
Dave Drebes started Missouri Scout in 2007. It is a private news service providing political intelligence and analysis. Subscribers receive "Daily Updates" that include rumors, overlooked facts, and analysis about current events. Subscribers also receive a weekly "Summary" that they may forward to clients and colleagues, and discounted rates to special MOScout events.
Before Missouri Scout, Drebes ran a monthly newspaper, Arch City Chronicle. He also writes a regular column in the Saint Louis Business Journal covering Missouri state politics. Drebes lives in Saint Louis City with his wife, Mary Lisa, and two children, Sarah Ann and Benjamin.
- John Combest -
John Combest started JohnCombeSaintcom -- "arguably the state's best known and most popular political Web site," according to the Saint Louis Post-Dispatch -- in 2001 to provide a comprehensive source of daily political news to his fellow Missouri politicos. The website quickly gained a following among tech-savvy political insiders of both parties.
In February 2007, John was named as a "Most Influential Saint Louisan" by the Saint Louis Business Journal, and in July of that year, the paper recognized him as a "30 Under 30" honoree.
In 2000, John served as an aide to U.S. Senator John Ashcroft in the Saint Louis District Office. He later worked at a Saint Louis-based public relations firm, focusing primarily on public and governmental affairs. While at the firm, he also worked with clients in the transportation, real estate and health care industries who wanted to use the Internet more effectively.
John currently is a manager in Public Affairs at Monsanto Company, an agricultural company that applies innovation and technology to help farmers around the world produce more while conserving more.
John has a Bachelor's degree in political science from Washington University in Saint Louis. |

YR Barbeque (May Happy Hour) | |
 Our May Happy Hour will be a Barbeque held on Friday, May 18, 2012 at the home of YR Jessica Pyritz. The address is 1225 Claytonia Terrace, Apartment A, Richmond Heights, Missouri 63117. The party starts at 6:00 PM.
We will provide beer, please feel free to bring anything else you may want. The main dish will be provided. We ask that everyone please bring a side dish or dessert to share. |

YR Night at the Cardinals Game | |
 The Saint Louis Young Republicans' night at the Cardinals game will be Wednesday, June 13, 2012, Cardinals VS White Sox. The game starts at 7:15 PM. We're sitting in the All-Inclusive Bank of America Club. Beer service begins at 5:45 PM and the Buffet begins at 6:15 PM.

 The first schedule has been released. Volunteers are expected to be able to arrive sometime between the Call Time and Gates Open. For the "All Day" shows, we are trying to find out our requirements - whether our stand will be open all day (requiring a morning shift and evening shift) or just in the evening.

2012 Dues are Due! | |
2012 dues are now due. The club's dues go to help pay or offset the cost of the events we do throughout the year. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Membership due support the operations of the organization and allow us to sponsor events and activities. Paying your 2012 dues will make you eligible for free or reduced prices on events and activities in 2012. You will also receive priority e-mail notification of upcoming events and activities. (2012 Membership: 02-09-2012 until 02-13-2013)
Annual membership dues are only $25.00 per regular or associate member, or $40.00 per married couple, or $50.00 per sustaining member, $100.00+ for advisory board member, or $300+ for President's circle per calendar year.

Saint Louis County Poll Worker Recruitment | |
 The Saint Louis County Board of Elections is looking for people to staff various polling places on Election Day, June 05, 2012.
The pay range is $130.00 to $180.00 which includes a mandatory training class held at their office in Maplewood prior to the election.
To work at the polls you must be a registered voter of Missouri.
