Dear Church Family,
The Bible clearly teaches the role of a deacon in the New Testament church. Here at New Life, every family has been assigned a shepherd. This shepherd, or deacon, is responsible to help you spiritually grow in your faith.
These men are your friends to pray for you, to help you to connect here at New Life and to communicate to you God's love! When your deacon calls, do not be surprised! He will be making sure that the information we have gathered here at the church is correct. Also, he is genuinely interested in praying for you and your family. Below, please see the photo of your deacon and read his message to help you get to know him better.

In the following verse God promises - "I will carry you."
Isaiah 46:4
"Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and rescue you."
As I read this recently it struck me as something I wanted to share with you and I have now incorporated it into my daily prayer for each of you. It is that you know God's love so intimately that you have no doubt of these loving promises of sustenance, support and deliverance. Please call on us to help you know this promise.
We have enjoyed serving you this past year and many of you we have been privileged to know even better. We hope in the coming months we will get to know more of you. We often speak of the "Church Family". Being a part of New Life, you are indeed in our Church Family. Being part of an earthly family, you realize everyone in the family is not exactly the same. We all have different talents, aspirations and needs. Being the same is not what makes a family. We have Christ as our Heavenly Father which makes us a Church Family. When family gets together, there is usually that unique feeling of oneness and joy. We hope you have shared in this joy here at New Life. We are one through Christ.

I feel honored and privileged to have been chosen to be your deacon here at New Life Baptist Church. My wife and I take this calling of service for the Lord with enthusiasm and excitement as part of the New Life family.
Just a little bit about us... We have been members of New Life since 2004, although we had a few years away, living in the Washington D.C. area; it has been a blessing to be back. God has a plan for all of our lives and it was clear to us that we were being led back to Western PA and the New Wilmington area. It is hard to believe how fast time has gone, but a year ago God blessed us with our first child, a daughter, Addison. I mention that because it will explain why we frequent the 11 AM service on Sunday mornings (trying to get a 1 year old up and ready!). We can also be found on Wednesday nights in the Teen Loft a.k.a Studio 315 at 7 PM as we are teen leaders for the 9th graders.
I look forward to getting the opportunity to know you and, most importantly, pray for you and your families in times of happiness, thankfulness, sorrow, and need.

What an exciting time to be part of New Life Baptist Church. We are seeing so many people saved, baptized, becoming members and really getting involved with one another in all forms of ministry. We are seeing more and more of our own members going on short term mission trips around the world to truly make a difference and take the Gospel "to the uttermost parts of the Earth."
As we celebrate our 19th Anniversary of ministry as a church, it is my prayer that you are getting plugged in to the different programs that New Life has to offer. Refuel, our Wednesday night growth group, is an amazing time to get together in an intimate setting with just a few close friends and grow closer to God learning what it means to go deeper in your faith and spending time praying for one another. There really is something for everyone here at New Life Baptist Church.
As I have been reading each day this month, I have been in the book of Ephesians and have shared verses from the third chapter above. We need one another to help make it through this life and God has blessed us with a church of believers and pastors who are not ashamed to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If you have a specific prayer request, I would love the opportunity to pray with you or help in any way that I can. If I cannot help, I will find someone who can, to meet your specific need.

Allow me to take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Jim Urban and I am your deacon at New Life Baptist Church. You probably know me as the leader of Operation Christmas Child in our church. My wife, Joline, and I have been members of the church for 11 years. We have 4 children: Julianne (age 12), Amanda (Age 10), Joshua (age 8), and Lindsey (age 5). We live in Neshannock Township.
These are exciting times at our church! There are missions teams going out all over the world. We are also partnering with World Help and Samaritan's Purse in several Third World Countries, and with dozens of missionaries around the world. While on the home front, there are several ways to be involved. Refuel is our Wednesday night small group ministry.
This is a great way to be able to know other church members on a more personal level. There are ministries for all ages like Mom's Caring & Sharing, Summer Spectacular for the kids, and Young at Heart for our seniors.
New Life Baptist Church is a place for believers to grow and develop in the Lord. There is a wide variety of ministry opportunities where one can be used of God - to learn, grow, and to
reach out and help others. Whatever God given gifts you have, we can help you find a place to "plug-in". One of my duties as deacon is to be there for you if you have any prayer requests, praises, or concerns that need to be shared with the pastoral staff. Please feel free to call or

God has provided a blessing, a new life for all who believe in His only Son, Jesus Christ.

God has given his unconditional love to each of us.

New Life Church is an instrument of love to us. God's Church allows each Christian the ability to worship Him, to grow in His Word, and to serve Him. The acts of worship, spiritual growth and service help us to obey Christ's commandments.

"Jesus said unto him, THOU SHALT LOVE THE LORD THY GOD WITH ALL THY HEART, AND ALL THY SOUL, AND WITH ALL THY MIND. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, THOU SHALT LOVE THY NEIGHBOR AS THYSELF. on these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."

As your new deacon, I would like to introduce myself and my family to you. My name is Jeff Davis. My wife, Natalie, and I have two boys, Jack and Max. Jack is a six-year-old kindergartener and Max is a two-year-old boy who thinks he is six! I am a math teacher at Sharon High School. Natalie currently stays home to raise our children.
Natalie and I have had the opportunity to serve in different areas of the church. We have had the privilege to serve as small group leaders on Wednesday nights for several different groups. This includes leading the 7th grade Wednesday night group which was a great time. Natalie and I help with the Summer Spectacular program which our oldest son thinks is the best week of the summer. Natalie also participates in Mom's Caring and Sharing, More Than A Story Hour and scrapbooking at the church.
My father recently spent a month in the hospital and the people at New Life were a great source of prayer and support to my family. As your deacon, I would like to extend that same source of support and prayer to you and your family and help you with any other needs.

Natalie and I are very appreciative that our boys are able to be part of the children's program at New Life on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. The children's program, from the infant room to the teens, is excellent. If your children do not participate, we would love to answer any questions that you may have.

Hello! My name is Barry Weaver, your new deacon at New Life Baptist Church. I am replacing Denny Barger as your deacon under the shepherding ministry.
