Hello All:
To those who attended the ORBiT Face to Face in Toronto on October 19th, thank you for your suggestions and thoughts on the ORBiT working groups for 2012.
At the session, we discussed whether we should reduce the number of working groups to consolidate the available resources. While the idea had merit, the majority felt we have too many areas requiring attention to reduce our focus at this time.
Following that discussion, the recommendation of each current working group team leader, and input from those who attended, potential working groups for 2012 were recommended.
Because ORBiT is a broker driven initiative, and equally importantly, a place for all stakeholders to come together to drive Real Time forward for the broker distribution channel, the input of each member is important, especially when setting the path for the coming year.
Therefore we are putting the recommendations discussed on October 19th to our entire membership via a survey in the link provided here. Please take this opportunity to have a voice in what ORBiT works on in 2012. For more information on the ORBiT working groups' mandates, please click here.
The steering committee will be doing a final evaluation of these recommendations to ensure we are staying true to our mission statement, values and goals. Once final approval is received, we will be sending to our entire membership to allow them an opportunity to join whichever group(s) most pique their interest.
We will also be looking for individuals to step forward to any vacant Team Leader role. Ideally, as this is a broker driven initiative, the team leader should be a broker, however, a great leader is a great leader regardless of where they hang their hat, so we are open to having those with the most skill in the role.
