A Message From Our President:
Cynthia Everhart
Dear ,
To My Fellow AAF Madison Members - If you had the opportunity to build AAF Madison from scratch, how would you build it? What would you do differently? What function would the club serve? How often would the group meet? How would you fund it? Would you have a club at all? I would love your thoughts and insight on this because we, the Board of Directors, are charged to keep this club relevant, viable and financially responsible. This is an expensive club to run with all the ties to AAF National, the professional development programs and events, education seminars, luncheons, awards shows and scholarships, our dues do not cover all of these initiatives alone. We have to rely on other fundraising initiatives such as the golf outing, the Trivia Party, ADDYs, sponsorships, Raffles and drawings, silent auctions, etc. to fund AAF Madison. Thank you for participating in these efforts and we hope that you continue the support. If you have creative ideas for fundraising, we would love to hear them. We look to our forefathers for answers to the questions above as well. We are hosting a Past Presidents Coffee and Muffins break this week to address these concerns and brainstorm ideas on how to make AAF Madison stand out among the rest and continue on their legacy. Look for their feedback to these concerns on our web site in the next couple of weeks. As for upcoming events: Hank Blank is coming to town to address "Why Agencies Don't Want New Business" at our luncheon on February 15, at the Concourse Hotel. Immediately following, we are hosting a breakout session for a small handful of agencies that would like Hank to expound upon this topic even more. Hank is an agency review consultant and specializes on finding advertising, public relations and interactive resources for clients. So if you are interested in having Hank Blank provide your agency with some pointers on how to better market yourselves, sign up now. The ADDY awards show coming up on February 27th at the Monona Terrace entitled, Advolution, It's in our Jeans. It promises to be a fabulous evening of fun, food and festivities. Order your tickets now and bring on the denim. We will be honoring Sandy Weisberger as the 2010 Silver Medal Award recipient. Congratulations, Sandy! And new this year, we will be holding a Silent Auction at the ADDYs so be ready to place those bids. If you have items that you would like to donate to the auction, please contact Michelle at AAF Madison. All proceeds will go to support AAF Madison's programs and initiatives. There are multiple sponsorship opportunities available as well, so call us to lock those down. I look forward to seeing you at the upcoming events and I look forward to hearing back from you regarding the future of our club. My email address is Cynthia@twistcom.com, email me your thoughts and we can take it from there. Please join the conversation, your feedback in invaluable. Sincerely, Cynthia Everhart President, AAF Madison

 Ad2 Update:
On January 21, 2010, American Printing Company hosted members and guests of Ad 2 Madison for a company tour. The staff showed us the behind-the-scenes activities of the print production facility, from drop-off to delivery. Ad 2 learned about pre-press options, along with UV printing and gloss techniques that can be applied. Attendees even had the chance to see the high-powered Mitsubishi printers in action. Once the items were printed, members got to see the cutting area where items are cut to become brochures, pocket folders, business cards, and more. Special thanks to American Printing Company for hosting such a fantastic tour!
