SteveA "first" for the D.I. market...Principal has introduced a Key Person contract that will protect the business if the Key Person becomes too sick or hurt to perform their duties.  Principal has also added a Loan Protection rider to their BOE contract which can indemnify the insured to the lendor.
 
MetLife has announced higher participation limits for non-invasive physician specialties (5S) and executives (6S).  MetLife will now participate up to $30K with group LTD.

Sales Tip Success

 
20 year level term plans account for 60% of all term sales.   Here's a tip on how you can double your commission on some of these cases. 
 
Instead of simply giving your client the 20 year level term plan he or she asks for, show them a guaranteed UL plan structured as a 20 year "term-equivalent".  The info below compares the cost of Lincoln National's 20 yer year level term plan & their LifeGuaranteeUL plan:
  • The cost for a 20 year level term policy on a M-60 Standard Non-Tobacco user is $5,400. 
    • It is only convertible for 10 years, to age 70. 
    • It is commissionable at 90% for a total commission of $4,876.
  • The cost for a guaranteed UL structured as a 20 year "term-equivalent" costs $5,476.
    • The premiums are guaranteed for the full 20 years, just like 20 year level term  
    • Since it is already UL you don't have to worry about conversion before the 10th anniversary...the price can be adjusted at any time.  This is a huge selling point! 
    • The target/commissionable premium is $11,850 and it is a "rolling" target.  You receive first year commissions in ongoing years until you hit target.  
    • It is commissionable at 90% for a total commission of $10,665!
While every age/rate class may not be as close as this, it is well worth your time to look at this scenario on all of your 20 year level term sales.
