Hello
Welcome to our first E-Newsletter!
I recently visited the Sears (I mean the WILLIS) Tower in Chicago and stood on the glass enclosed LEDGE outside the 103rd floor! (see picture of my feet as I look down!!)) A little scary but exciting too! In the past year the stock market has made people feel like "jumping off a ledge" but lately things sure have been looking alot better! Lets hope the stock market as well as the economy continue to rebound!

| Required Minimum Distributions are Waived For 2009 |
For those of you who are age 70 1/2 or above, recent legislation suspended required minimum distributions (RMDs) from IRA plans for the 2009 tax year! This means that you can keep your money in your plan that you would normally have to withdraw in 2009. IRA owners who reach the age of 70 1/2 in 2009 will not have to take the distribution. So you will be able to keep more money invested in your accounts (if you don't need this extra income). It may mean a lower tax bill and being able to keep more money invested. This rule also covers other retirement accounts such as 401K and 403B plans. If you are not 70 1/2 but over 59 1/2. remember that you may start taking retirement distributions WITHOUT the 10% penalty! Yeah!! More information about Required Minimum Distributions is available at my website, www.RogersFinancialServices.com |
| The Yacht Capital of The World |
Our family, which also includes my wife Debbie, son Doug (age 20) and daughter Michelle (age 17) went on vacation in Pompano Beach, Florida, just up the road from Fort Lauderdale. Fort Lauderdale touts itself as the "Yacht Capital of the World" and "The Venice of America". As my daughter and I jet-skiied down the intracoastal waterway, we were amazed at the million dollar mansions, all with a yacht parked out in front! Well, I can't make any promises that I will help you buy your dream yacht, but I can promise that I will do all I can to help make your "Golden Years" more financially secure.
