 It's no surprise that many airlines are plugging the holes in their bottom lines with profits from fees. In all, the country's major airlines reported that they collected a total of more than $2.4 billion in revenue for fees that included checked bags and preferred seats.
Many airlines offer a small discount, if baggage fees are purchased on their websites. Our airline confirmations include your airline booking number. Log on to the airlines website with your booking number, to purchase your baggage fee in advance.

Airlines will be being asking more of travelers |

Airlines were supposed to start asking ticket buyers for full names several months ago. This month they were supposed to add birth dates and gender to their forms. But some major airlines and booking companies are not yet asking fliers for the information.
The TSA is giving carriers a few months to alter computer systems to collect the new data. They hope to vet 100 percent of domestic passengers by March 31, 2010, and all passengers on international flights to, from or over the United States by the end of 2010 -- a total of 2 million daily passengers.
To avoid problems and delays at the airport, we are in the process of updating travelers profiles to include the new information.

2010 Cost of Travel Forcast |

Travelers should anticipate airfare increases in all classes of service as carriers implement plans to further scale down capacity in the fourth quarter of this year, oil prices remain relatively steady and demand starts to creep up, according to a 2010 forecast.
Studies, however, project average daily hotel rates to fall considerably, car rental prices to drop moderately and meetings costs to continue to decrease through 2010.
