Power Words
How to Create Copy That Sells!

Powerful words create a picture of your products in your prospects' minds.

Do you have writer's block when you are writing ad, brochure, or direct mail copy? Are your customers and prospects reacting to your copy? If not, then maybe you need to update the way you are communicating your message.

Certain words create an emotional fire inside people, so use them wisely. It's nice to communicate the features of your product, but you really need to communicate the benefits and the advantages that your products or services have over your competition. Otherwise, you look like a "me too" company and don't stand out from the crowd. Your products probably are very similar to your competition's products. You offer the same level of support and provide the same warranties, etc. So, how do you make your products stand out from the crowd? It's simple. By using words to create a picture in the customer's mind about the quality and benefits of your products. What is your unique selling proposition or USP? In other words, why should your customers buy from you versus your competition?

Also make sure you offer the customer something. Just don't leave them hanging. If they take the time to read your ad, direct mail, brochure, etc. then what do they get for reading it? By adding a call-to-action to your copy you will be one step closer to helping the prospect make a decision whether or not to purchase your product. And a call-to-action is especially important when you are writing copy for Internet marketing promotions.

Here are a few words for your consideration:
