Have you heard about WOMM? That's Word-of-Mouth Marketing. What are your customers saying about you? Are they providing your company name as a referral? Well, no matter how much marketing you do, the best way to gain customers is through your current customers' loyalty. So, who is referring you to other potential customers?
As part of your WOM Marketing, you'll also need to know how to network. This not only refers to your personal career, but can also help you to network within your company and in your personal aspirations.

Word-of-Mouth Marketing (WOMM) Who is Talking About you?
Getting people to talk about your brand will increase your brand strength.
Have you heard about WOMM or Word-of-Mouth Marketing? I attended a webcast a few months ago and they imparted some interesting facts. For example, according to Yankelovich, 2010, 76% of the people surveyed don't believe that companies tell the truth in their advertisements. That's a whopping number. Or how about this one? Approximately 68% trust other people "like themselves". This is up from 22% in 2003. I'm sure this is due to all of the social media that has come in vogue during the past few years. The source for this statistic is Edelman Trust Barometer. And get this! About 92% cite WOM as the best source for their product ideas. This has grown from 67% in 1997. This statistic was taken from a McKinsey & Company (2010) and Gft NOP/Roper (2008) study.
Remember...it's not who you know but who knows you!
Do you know how to work the crowd when you are attending a corporate function? Do you just stand there like a wallflower waiting for someone to come up and talk to you? Or are you the one who makes the effort to introduce yourself? Networking is vital to being successful in business today. Whether you are an entrepreneur or have a long-term career at a company, networking can make or break your career.
