Don't Let Your Marketing Go On Vacation This Summer!
Jumpstart Your Marketing Program With Some Public Relations
Need a little boost of energy this summer to get your marketing campaigns going? How about adding some public relations to the mix. I know you have visions of BBQs, beaches, and fun in the sun, but a little public relations done right will reap you benefits in the coming months. Do you have a new product launch coming up soon? Well, how about getting the trade journal editors interested in your product now. You can write a feature article or a case study for one of the industry trade journals. Or how about planning a press tour for the fall months. Start your planning now and get your invitations out this month, schedule your travel itinerary, and start preparing your presentations.
Have you thought about using some of the new online P.R. Websites? You can push your message into cyberspace and in return drive more traffic to your Website. For a small investment you can get your corporate message out to thousands of potential customers. We took our own advice and recently sent out several online press releases about KIWI Communications. The first day we tripled the amount of visitors we usually get to our Website. Plus we got several new sign-ups for our newsletter and marketing tools as well. You can see our press release on social media by clicking on this link. Check out our new MIB on online press relations. See the related article below. It will give you some advice how to get started with this new technology.

Online Press Relations - The Changing Face of the Press Release
Helpful Hints, Tips and Techniques
You know the old adage "It's who you know." Well, I contend that it should be restated to "It's who knows you." That's why you should use public relations as one of your marketing tools. It's a cost-effective and efficient way to get your company's name and message to your targeted audience. You may be familiar with traditional press relations but have you tried getting publicity online? It's not that difficult with some of the online newswire organizations. You get increased traffic to your Website, your company gets more readily found in search engine searches and you can track how many people viewed your news release. Plus it's easy to target a specific industry or geographic area of your choice. Here are a few guidelines for you to follow.
The guidelines for online news releases are pretty much the same as for traditional press releases but with a few caveats. For example, you still should only send out newsworthy information. But your format may change a bit. Limit your headline to no more than 80 characters including spaces. Also limit your news release to 300-800 words. Too short or too long and the search engines will have a difficult time indexing your news release.
