Unique Collaborations for Artist Month at O'Hare and Midway

CHICAGO, October 4, 2012 - Musicians and fine artists will team up at O'Hare and Midway International Airports to celebrate Artists Month in Chicago. Every Friday in October from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., singers and musical duos will perform live in the terminals while artists paint and draw works of art.

The Artists Month stages at O'Hare are located in Terminal 1 on the lower level baggage claim area near Ciao's concession; in Terminal 2 past security next to Wicker Park Seafood and Sushi Bar; in Terminal 3 past security near the entrance to Concourse L; and in International Terminal 5 on the lower level meeter/greeter area next to the gift store. At Midway, the stage is in the lower level baggage claim area next to the information booth.

 

Tomorrow's visual and performing art combinations include the Chicago Samba and artist Keith Conner at O'Hare. The Bryant Jones Duo will provide gospel music accompaniment to Kyle D. Garvin's artistic offerings at Midway.

 

Chicago Artists Month 2012 celebrates the city's art and artists as essential building blocks in the development of vibrant and livable neighborhoods that make Chicago a world-class, creative city.

 

The CDA's "Music in the Air" entertainment is a year-round program, organized in conjunction with Chicago's downtown festivals and holiday celebrations.
