Aviation Commissioner Andolino Presents on O'Hare, Midway Airports' Financial Strength at Chicago Investors Conference

CHICAGO, April 27, 2012 -- Chicago Department of Aviation Commissioner Rosemarie S. Andolino gave an operational and financial overview of O'Hare and Midway International Airports at the Chicago Investors Conference on Thursday, April 26, 2012, providing the municipal bond industry with an update on both airports.

 

Commissioner Andolino gave an overview of the strength of Chicago's air service market and operations. First Deputy Commissioner Michael Boland and Midway's Managing Deputy Commissioner Erin O'Donnell provided detail on topics including passenger traffic, construction progress, outstanding debt and the growing concessions programs at O'Hare and Midway, respectively. An update on the O'Hare Modernization Program was also provided.

 

The CDA joined a number of other city departments presenting at the conference Thursday, which was the second investor conference the city has held since Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel took office on May 16, 2011.

 

The Mayor gave remarks on his fiscal vision for the city, following a welcome from Lois Scott, Chicago's Chief Financial Officer, and Michael Sacks, Vice Chairman of World Business Chicago and CEO of Grosvenor Capital Management, and an economic trend outlook from Mellody Hobson, President of Ariel Investments and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Ariel Investment Trust.

 

Following the mayor's speech, Scott gave a presentation with her senior staff on the city's financial status. Additional city departments that presented at the conference included Chicago Public Schools and City Colleges of Chicago; Chicago Transit Authority; and the Department of Water Management.
