CDA's Take Your Child to Work Day a Success!
 
CHICAGO, April 27, 2012 - Yesterday, more than 90 young people between the ages of eight and 18 got a first-hand look at the aviation industry as part of the Chicago Department of Aviation's (CDA) "Take Your Child to Work Day" program at O'Hare and Midway International Airports.

Volunteer staff at O'Hare and Midway scheduled a full day of activities to provide a unique, fun and exciting experience for the kids, including tours of the airlines' hangar facilities, airport fire stations and the airfields at each airport. In addition,
CDA staff members gave presentations about various career opportunities in aviation.

Participants also got the chance to win candy prizes while playing games in the cafeterias at each airport and each kid received a complimentary CDA backpack. The fun-filled day ended with an up-close look at an aircraft being prepped for take-off.
