After a fabulous and well-attended day at Midway International Airport on Wednesday, the highly anticipated "Glitter: A Holiday Shopping Event" hits O'Hare International Airport on Friday, December 9, 2011.

"Glitter" will be held in O'Hare Terminal 3, past security checkpoints, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It's a great opportunity for travelers to find special, unique gifts, including accessories, apparel and jewelry from local fashion designers and independent retailers. And there will even be free gift-wrapping to make holiday shopping easier.

Chicago's local designers showcase their merchandise at Midway's "Glitter" event on December 7.

Designers will include Love, Lulu Mae; Brynn Capella; The Tie Bar; FIVEaccessories; Mohop; Michelle Tan; Nora del Busto; Kristin Hassan; jules; Rock Candy by Helen; Veronica Riley Martens and Lucius.

"We are pleased to offer this festive and unique holiday shopping experience for passengers traveling through O'Hare International Airport," said Chicago Department of Aviation Commissioner Rosemarie S. Andolino. "'Glitter' is just one of the many ways Chicago's airports make traveling more fun for passengers while showcasing Chicago's incredibly talented designers and vibrant fashion industry."

Chicago's Misericordia organization is also participating in the "Glitter" events at both airports. Its presentation will feature crafts and baked goods created by individuals in the art education and studio workshop as well as the Hearts & Flour Bakery. Misericordia is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation that provides support individuals with developmental disabilities.
