The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) received an anna.aero Airline Network News & Analysis award recognizing Midway International Airport as the fastest-growing airport in the U.S. The award is one of anna.aero's U.S. Airport Growth Awards, which are based on statistical data and other research.

Airline Route News and Analysis announced its U.S. Airport Growth Awards (U$ ANNIES) on Thursday, October 20, 2011 including Midway as the fastest growing airport in the largest airport category (more than 10 million passengers).
