CDA Hosts Lambda Alpha International at O'Hare
Today, the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) hosted more than 50 members of the Chicago-Ely Chapter of Lambda Alpha International, providing an overview and tour of O'Hare International Airport. The group received a presentation by Commissioner Rosemarie S. Andolino, and CDA staff including Khaled Naja, P.E., Chief Operating Officer; John Sisco, Managing Deputy Commissioner, Design & Construction; Jim Chilton, OMP-PMO Program Manager; and Ted Woosley, Landrum & Brown. The presentation focused on O'Hare International Airport's status as a global airport, O'Hare's impact to business and development, the future of the O'Hare Modernization Program (OMP), the O'Hare Airport Express Rail Service, and the CDA's sustainability initiatives. The group also received an airfield tour from Frank Grimaldi, Assistant Commissioner, Airfield Operations and Tom Lyon, OMP Construction Management. The tour featured construction projects that are a part of the OMP. Lambda Alpha International, also known as the Honorary Society for the Advancement of Land Economics, was founded in 1930. Those individuals who have made notable contributions to the study and ethical practice of land use are invited to join Lambda Alpha International. Now numbering more than 2,000 members worldwide, Lambda Alpha International is an apolitical not-for-profit professional organization.
