The City of Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) has issued bid opportunities for the following projects:

Runway 9C-27C Trunk Sewer System E

Description: The scope of work includes construction of approximately 6,750 linear feet of 144-inch diameter sewer and 2,630 linear feet of 72-inch diameter sewer. The majority of the 144-inch diameter and the 72-inch diameter storm sewer will be installed via open cut and cover construction methods. The 144-inch diameter and the 72-inch diameter storm sewer will be installed via boring and jacking construction methods where it crosses under existing runway or taxiway pavements. At the Contractor's option, the installation of pipe in non-paved areas may be installed using trenchless methods of installation for all or portions of its length. The proposed alignment for Trunk Sewer System E begins near the southwest corner of the existing North Detention Basin where it will tie into an existing 10'x10' box culvert. The sewer crosses under existing Runway 14L-32R and a number of existing taxiways before terminating near the existing Runway 14R Hold Apron. Project components include: installation of eleven (11) junction chambers, manholes, reinforced concrete pipe, demolition and abandonment of existing utilities, miscellaneous pavements, dewatering, erosion control, and seeding.
