The men's lifestyle and entertainment magazine named Tortas Frontera by Rick Bayless the No. 1 airport restaurant and Eli's Cheesecake the sixth-best restaurant at an airport. Both eateries are located in O'Hare's Terminal 1, B Concourse.
Complex praised Tortas Frontera for its margaritas, fresh guacamole, short ribs and smokey chipotle chicken, declaring "We plan our trips around connections at O'Hare just to eat here. You will too." Eli's delectable desserts, to be eaten or taken on-the-go, will have travelers "drifting off to sleep, satisfied," the magazine said.
"We are pleased that Complex writers Ross Scarano and Nick Schonberger enjoyed Tortas Frontera and Eli's so much during their travels that they included them in their top 10 list," said Rosemarie S. Andolino, Commissioner of the Chicago Department of Aviation. "We encourage all the magazine's readers who travel to experience a delicious taste for themselves the next time they fly through Chicago's airports."
Other newly-opened restaurants at O'Hare include Blackhawks Restaurant, Wicker Park Seafood & Sushi Bar and America's Dog. Next year, several brand new restaurants will open at Midway, including a wine bar.
