2011 Airports Going Green Conference 10/31-11/2- Register Today!
Registration is now open for the highly anticipated annual Airports Going Green Conference "Leading by Example" Oct. 31-Nov. 2, 2011, which is hosted by the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) and American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).
Airports Going Green, to be held at the Westin Chicago River North, will bring together leaders and innovators to provide national and international airport and airline perspectives on sustainability, including case studies, sustainability program costs, funding opportunities and lessons learned.
Agenda topics include:
- Sustainability initiatives unique to concessions and tenants
- Green vehicle incentive programs in place at leading airports
- Prospects for 'net zero' waste management
- Aviation's role in local communities and socially responsible initiatives, from bees to donating goods, job training and education programs
- Sustainable re-use of airport facilities, including the wide-range and growing number of LEED airport facilities
- Airline and international airport sustainability initiatives, and
- The future of sustainability in the industry
Conference attendees can also participate in a workshop on the City of Chicago's Sustainable Airport Manual (SAM) Version 2.1, which has set the standard for green airport design and construction in the U.S.
The Airports Going Green conference also includes a tour of the O'Hare Modernization Program (OMP).
