We've got a correction!

May's winner, Amy Bouchard is originally from northern Ohio, but was living in the Washington D.C. area ( Alexandria, VA) at the time of the May 2009 Newsletter, NOT North Carolina although Amy said that she heard that NC was beautiful.

Real-Time Gait Analysis With Socket Reaction Force Measurements

Scott Schall attended the inaugural 'Computerized Prosthesis Alignment System' (Compas) Seminar in Chicago May 24th  & 25th.  

Optimus Prosthetics remains on the forefront of prosthetic technological advancements by implementing Dayton's first Computerized Prosthesis Alignment System (Compas).

Alignment has been recognized as a key element for optimal prosthesis function for many decades. Prosthesis alignment historically, however, has been a learned art rather than a measureable science. Compas™ enables the prosthetist to use real-time gait analysis data to optimize prosthesis alignment for each individual.

Scott is in the process of implementing the Compas system into Optimus' daily routine of dynamic diagnostic fittings of lower extremity prosthetics. 

Therapists will be introduced to this new technology during the 7th and 8th course in the Prosthetics for Therapists 8-course series.
'Prosthetics for Therapists' Update

Kids_summerJune 21st was the first day of Summer. 

Our goal is to finish the 1st half of the 8 course series as soon as possible as we take a summer break to allow for vacations (yours and ours) and to gear up for the 2nd half of the 8 course series. 

So if you need to schedule any of the 1st 4 courses, call us ASAP!  937-454-1900

Also, if you have missed any of the 1st 4 courses, feel free to find a course at another location and contact us so we can make the arrangements with the host group.
