Greetings!

Apparently October only lasted a week, because we're now into November.  And this of course means the holidays are right around the corner.

If you're struggling to find a gift for someone, particularly someone partaking -- or looking to partake -- in a fitness program, consider a Back2Health gift certificate.  We can make it work for any dollar amount, or number of sessions, or program (i.e., total body training, Boot Camp, Spinal Fitness).

Also remember that all new clients receive 2 free sessions.  So you can purchase 3 sessions and actually give a gift certificate reading 5 sessions, making you look like the big spender that you are...
A Few Things to Chew On...
By Adam Reid

If having high cholesterol is as bad as we're told by the drug companies -- and physicians who act as the drug companies mouth pieces -- then why do HALF of all heart disease related fatalities occur in those with LOW cholesterol??

If a high-carbohydrate (and therefore low-fat) diet is ideal -- with grains as the foundation of the food pyramid as currently recommended by the USDA -- then why is obesity at an all time high?

And if dietary fat is bad for you -- particularly saturated fat, which we've only survived on since the beginning of time -- then why do people who abstain from foods high in saturated fat suffer from incredibly screwed up metabolic and hormonal profiles?

From kids through adults, how many people do you know that actually look good without their shirts on?  That means being unable to 'pinch an inch' around the midsection, and having clearly visible muscle tone.

And why isn't the above emphasized more? Not for vanity, but for the fact that it will mean you are less likely to drop dead at an early age than if you were taking all the Lipitor in the world.  LEAN equals HEALTHY.

When people say they do cardio for 'heart health', do you think they realize that intense resistance training -- reaching or approaching muscular fatigue approximately 10 times over the course of 20-30 minutes 2-3 times per week -- would do more for their 'heart health' than running a marathon every day?  Never mind 'joint health'...

When are people going to get it in their heads that food that tastes 'great' is most likely what is responsible for obesity/diabetes/heart problems/early death.  We eat for survival, not for pleasure.  In moderation, of course enjoy - but it's quite obvious that if you're not a lean, mean fighting machine, something needs to change.
As always, we appreciate your referrals.

Sincerely,

Craig and Adam
